If you are looking for something a little out of the ordinary for your next night out in Charlotte, try signing up for a murder mystery dinner show.
What is the Dinner Detectives?
The Dinner Detectives is the largest interactive mystery dinner show in the country, and they have a troupe that does shows at the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Uptown a few times per month.
It is not your typical dinner theatre show, however. A lot of the actors are hidden among the other guests, so the person sitting next to you could be a murderer! It makes everyone a suspect which means your tablemates will also suspect you.
What Your Ticket Gets You
The tickets include a 4-course meal (appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert) and a night of murder and mayhem. It is VERY interactive with the detectives and the hosts walking around and talking to everyone at the tables.
Many of the audience members are pulled up to become part of the show, acting out things and some even do a little singing. Don’t worry, there is a cash bar to help you get into character.
You start out the night by picking your codename or alias, and you then sit at large round tables with other guests (or maybe actors.) There is an interrogation portion where you get to walk around and question everyone, looking for the killer. You have to do a lot of detective work to figure out the killer and in the prize!
Fun Fact: You can pay a little extra to have your date framed as a suspect!
A Night of Mystery-Solving Fun
All in all, it is a super fun evening out. The food is decent (the dessert is bomb!), and the show is funny and entertaining.
I don’t recommend it if you are very shy or don’t want to participate in the action, however, but for everyone else, it makes for a fun night out.
