Charlotte's Most Delicious Breakfast: Metro Diner!
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day...or so they say. When you are in Charlotte, it can definitly be the most delicious meal of the day when you dine at Metro Diner!

If you haven’t made it out to Metro Diner yet, you are missing out. Big time. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, pretty generic actually, but once you take your first bite, you will be so glad you gave it a try because it might literally be one of the best breakfast places in Charlotte!
Metro Diner is a small chain that started in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1938. It has since spread its wings and dropped stores in eleven states, and it even got a feature on the Food Network show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.
The Charlotte food scene was lucky enough to have two locations pop up (well, technically one is in Matthews, but that’s close enough, right?)
Now, I’m sure the lunch and dinner menus can hold their own, but breakfast is where it’s at when it comes to eating at Metro. It is stacked with so many delicious options that it can be hard to narrow it down to just one dish. My personal favorites are the Spicy Honey Chicken Biscuit and the Croissant French Toast. Oh, and you have to get an order of the whipped strawberry butter, it takes your French toast to the next level. Did I mention it was the best breakfast in Charlotte?
There are daily specials on the board that are sometimes seasonal. Thanksgiving week, they had a special that consisted of a waffle made out of stuffing that was topped with turkey and gravy. Plus, the waitstaff is super friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu.
You need to go hungry, though, because the portion sizes are on the larger side. It is a good weekend brunch option if you are on the Pineville side of town. And what would the weekend brunch action be without a little alcohol? Yep, Metro is serving Bloody Marys and mimosas to complete your meal.
I have been to the location on Pineville-Matthews Road multiple times now, and each time the food has been fantastic. It is one of my favorite places to grab a relatively quick bite to eat.
