Lenny Boy Brewing

If you are up bright and early on Saturday mornings, head to Lenny Boy Brewing Company where $5 dollars gets you a 10 am yoga class and a 6 oz pour of Kombucha…they put the om in Kombucha (I can’t take credit for that wittiness! It was on their site.) They also have a Thursday evening class at 7 p.m. with the same deal.

If you still want more physical activity, you can head back to Lenny Boy on Sunday and join the run club as well.

Sip & Stretch Sundays

Sip & Stretch is a free monthly outdoor yoga class put on by the Counterculture Club at Camp North End. The class starts at 10 am on the last Sunday of the month, and reservations are required. While the class is free, donations are always appreciated. Counterculture Club is an alcohol-free Charlotte community.

Sahaja Yoga Meetup Group

The Sahaja group is open to everyone and all of the yoga meditation classes are completely free! Check their schedule on Meetup to find class information. Most of the classes seem to take place on the weekends.

USNWC

The Whitewater Center hosts a free outdoor yoga class during the warmer spring and summer months. There is a $6 parking fee at the center, but you can buy an annual pass if you plan to go often. And while you are there, you can partake in some of the other fun activities like kayaking or SUP.

I Am Yoga

Keisha Battles leads virtual I Am Yoga classes on Sunday evenings. The classes cost $5 individually, but a plan is available for purchase as well. Keisha also leads retreats and yoga teacher training classes.

Community Yoga with Habitual Roots

Dancing Lotus Yoga + Arts

Dancing Lotus breaks down “the barriers of a traditional studio by bringing the yoga & healing arts into the community.” They offer very affordable classes around the city, many in outdoor spaces, for just $10 per class. They also offer monthly plans as well. You can find a class here.

Yoga On The Rooftop

Head to the Harvey B. Gantt Center on Sundays at 12:30 p.m. for yoga with Sajeedah Jones who will lead you through a creative vinyasa flow. It is an all-ages, all-abilities class, and it costs $10 per person — unless you are a museum member, then it is a free class.

I seriously love doing yoga, and I always feel awesome afterward. The way it makes me feel is exactly why I am totally trying to get addicted to yoga this year. Attending free and cheap classes definitely helps make it easier to form the habit!
