Imagine your next vacation bicycling instead of on a cruise ship or lounging at a resort. Sound intriguing? There is something to be said for an adventure vacation — surfing, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, or bicycling! A biking vacation allows you to enjoy every moment of the vacation, escape the routine of everyday life, and give your muscles a chance to do their thing.

Vacation Bicycling in Europe

If you are in search of an adventure, then take a biking expedition across the Chateaux de la Loire in France. It is a 5-hour family-friendly day trip that leaves from Le Mans. Bikes or e-bikes, lunch, dinner, and wine cellar visits are all included. Plus, a support van is available for those who need it.

Another adventure that would make a biking vacation a memorable one is the Danube Cycle Path which starts in Vienna and travels all the way to Budapest (180 miles!) Even though the trek is long, it is considered an “easy-going ride” with plenty of stop-offs. You’ll see medieval castles, Arabian horses, and stunning mountain views.

In Italy, you can enjoy a 5-day vacation bicycling adventure through Tuscany and Umbria. You’ll find your zen pedaling through olive groves, rolling hills, and endless vineyards. As you cycle through the “Green Heart” of Italy, you’ll get your fair share of wine samples and panoramic views.

Vacation Bicycling in North America

There is a seven-day cycling trip in Canada that gives you days of car-free adventures as you pedal the Confederation Trail, explore the Prince Edward Island National Park, and end up at the East Point Lighthouse. Along the way, you’ll visit historic sites, and museums while dining on fresh seafood.

A much shorter trip can be found in Naples, Florida: the Everglades guided eco-tour. A three-hour day trip led by a certified naturalist guide, the Everglades tour takes you through the subtropical swamp where you have a chance of peeping alligators, giant ferns, and bobcats.

Plan Your Biking Adventure

There are plenty of ways to plan your cycle trip, but if planning isn’t your forte, you can opt for an all-inclusive tour or enlist the help of a travel agent.
